Having set India a target of 300, Sri Lanka started well in the second innings, managing to break in the first over itself. Almost every batsmen after that managed to stay in there for a while but threw their wickets away at crucial junctures. Sehwag (28), Kohli (37), Yuvraj (26) and Raina (29) got the starts but failed to convert it into a big one. Skipper Dhoni (67) stayed there till the end but fell short of partners when his side was looking to accelerate. Lankans bowlers played their part pretty well. Perera (3/36) was once again at his best, along with Randiv (3/40). Malinga (2/49) and Mathews (1/48) also bowled well. Sangakkara carried his team well and helped them to this fine victory against India. This is also Dhoni’s first series loss in Sri Lanka as Captain.
